Highlanders FC secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Hunters FC at Barbourfields Stadium, collecting all three points in an entertaining encounter.
Bosso got off to the perfect start just two minutes into the match. After Royn Nyamano was fouled , Andrew Mbeba delivered an excellent ball into the box, where Marvin Sibanda rose highest to head home and give Highlanders an early lead.
Bosso continued to press forward, with Benjamin Adeogun testing the Hunters goalkeeper from long range in the ninth minute. At the other end, goalkeeper Aron “Arusha” Ngwenya proved crucial, producing two outstanding saves in quick succession to deny Hunters and preserve Highlanders’ advantage.
After taking a 1-0 lead into the break, Highlanders doubled their advantage in the 63rd minute. Benjamin Adeogun showed great composure in front of goal, calmly slotting home to make it 2-0 and put Bosso firmly in control.
The match was briefly interrupted by an injury to Adeogun, who was stretchered off and replaced alongside Shepherd Mhlanga by Dominic Jaricha and Isaac Ngoma in the 68th minute. Ngoma immediately made his presence felt, weaving past a Hunters defender before firing narrowly over the crossbar.
Hunters continued to fight and managed to pull a goal back late in the game, setting up a tense finish. Brighton Ncube nearly restored Highlanders’ two-goal cushion in the 89th minute after being picked out by Ackim Nkomo, but his effort drifted just wide.
Despite the late pressure, Highlanders held on until the final whistle to seal a deserved 2-1 victory and claim all three points in front of their home supporters at Barbourfields Stadium.

Final Score: Highlanders FC 2-1 Hunters FC.
