A DREAM COME TRUE TO EARN MY FIRST WARRIORS CALL-UP” — ARON ‘ARUSHA’ NGWENYA

ARUSHA EARNS MAIDEN WARRIORS CALL-UP

Our shot-stopper Aron “Arusha” Ngwenya has earned his first-ever call-up to the Zimbabwe Senior Men’s National Team ahead of the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Equatorial Guinea.

For Arusha, this is more than just a national team selection. It is a proud milestone in a journey defined by determination, resilience, hard work and outstanding performances between the sticks.

Throughout the 2026 season, Arusha has established himself as a key figure in our squad, producing crucial saves and match-winning performances when the team needed him most.

One of his most memorable performances came against Chicken Inn in the Chibuku Super Cup in August. With the match ending goalless after regulation time, Arusha stepped up during the penalty shootout, saving two spot-kicks to inspire Bosso to a 3-1 victory.

The goalkeeper once again demonstrated his ability to deliver under pressure during our Chibuku Super Cup quarter-final encounter against MWOS FC in September. With the match ending 1-1, Arusha produced another impressive penalty shootout performance, making crucial saves as we secured a 3-2 victory to advance to the semi-finals.

His brilliance has not been limited to cup competitions.

Against FC Hunters at Barbourfields in May, Arusha produced two outstanding saves in quick succession, helping us secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory.

In September, during our goalless draw away to Triangle United at Gibbo Stadium, he was once again instrumental, producing a superb reaction save before denying the hosts in a one-on-one situation just minutes later. His interventions ensured we returned home with a valuable point.

More recently, in our Chibuku Super Cup semi-final against CAPS United at Rufaro Stadium, Arusha produced a crucial one-on-one save to keep us in contention before unfortunately sustaining an injury. His contribution helped keep our hopes alive before Reward Muza stepped in and delivered the penalty shootout heroics that sent us into the final.

These are just some of the moments that have defined Arusha’s season, showcasing his sharp reflexes, composure, courage and ability to rise to the occasion.

His performances have now earned recognition at the highest level of Zimbabwean football, with Warriors head coach Ramón Catalá including him in the final 24-member squad for the upcoming international assignments.

“I am incredibly happy to have received my first national team call-up. It is a dream come true, and I hope to give my all and make the most of this opportunity,” said Aron “Arusha” Ngwenya, expressing his excitement after earning his maiden Warriors call-up.

For the Black and White family, this is a moment of immense pride. Watching one of our own earn the opportunity to represent the nation is a reminder of what commitment, perseverance and belief can achieve.

As Arusha prepares to join the Warriors, he carries the hopes, pride and best wishes of the entire Bosso family.

Congratulations, Arusha! Your hard work has earned you this opportunity. Keep making us proud and fly the Black and White flag high on the international stage
