Highlanders FC booked their place in the Chibuku Super Cup semi-finals after a dramatic afternoon of football at Barbourfields Stadium, overcoming MWOS FC in a tense penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.
Bosso started brightly and created the better opportunities in the opening stages. Nomore Chinyerere tried his luck from distance before Luckmore Mutumbi came agonisingly close to opening the scoring, only to see his effort cleared off the line by an MWOS defender.
Despite the pressure, it was MWOS who struck first. They caught Highlanders on the counter in the 28th minute and made the opportunity count, taking a 1-0 advantage into the break.
Highlanders returned for the second half determined to find a way back into the contest. Brighton Makopa and Never Rauzhi were introduced at the interval as Bosso increased the pressure.
The breakthrough finally arrived on the hour mark.
GOAL! ROYN NYAMONO
Nyamono found the back of the net to bring Highlanders level and send Barbourfields into celebration. With the momentum firmly behind Bosso, Kudakwashe Mahachi later came close to completing the turnaround, firing into the side netting after being picked out by Nyamono.
There was concern late in the game when goalscorer Nyamono was stretchered off and replaced by Prince Ndlovu, but Highlanders continued fighting until the final whistle.
After 90 minutes, nothing could separate the two sides.

Penalties would decide who marched into the semi-finals.
The shootout brought all the tension and drama of cup football, but when it mattered most, Bosso held their nerve. MWOS missed their final two penalties, and Highlanders completed the job.
